In collaboration with SP Energy Networks and Power Electronics UK
Electricity networks are experiencing significant changes in the way energy is generated and consumed due to the growing integration of low carbon technologies (LCTs).
The opportunity to embed power electronics in all aspects of grid management is at hand. More complex, innovative networks are needed to accommodate the predicted increase in demands from the electrification of transport and heat, but also to achieve the successful integration of multiple distributed renewable energy sources.
The merging of rapidly evolving power electronics technology with a new, but highly established infrastructure poses significant challenges and opportunities for both the power electronics supply chain and the network operators it will serve.
